Keeping Warm

Finding the perfect pair of gloves can be a very preoccupying matter and a pressing one when the snow is falling heavily. Those uncommon clients looking for something less obvious and much more affordable than the major (and ubiquitous) designer options could do worse than consider Dents. They’ve been making gloves since 1777 and made HM The Queen’s coronation gloves. I agonised for months and finally bought a pair of black leather driving gloves which are extremely light and soft. They are unlined so those with particularly poor circulation (or who spend a lot of time outside in the cold) might consider something cashmere or fur lined instead. I find these induce a rather unpleasant clamminess and therefore the perforated, open-backed design of a driving glove suits me perfectly as one’s hands stay warm but sufficiently aerated.

It is also good to learn that Dents leather is all sourced as a bi-product of the food and wool industries.
